“Then (2001) there was general chaos in Macedonia.  It was literally unknown who drank and who paid.  The spirit that remained from the committees and partisans was reborn in the defenders who for that moment left their families, work and were ready to defend Macedonia.  And at the cost of his own life.  And the komiti, partisans and defenders had something in common - the Oath.  An oath that they will fight to the death for Macedonia.  That spirit of heroism and patriotism motivated me to write a book in their honor.  To be able to hear the voice of the secret heroes who defended us then.

It goes without saying that this book will also stand as a pillar of truth about the events of that crucial year.  I want to say that the war of 2001 is still going on.  The difference is that the battlefield today is in businesses, families and strengthening the nation, not guns in hand.  It is a war that we are currently losing, and it must not be like that.  So Macedonians, take care of each other and love your homeland.

 May God protect Macedonia!”
